Condolances to the Irwin families. Bob was always a kind soul back in our days at Lowrey. May he find peace and watch over those he leaves behind. RIP Bob 😇
My best memory of Bob is when he auditioned to be the lead singer in The Electras with Rick Shaw and me. He sang a great version of The Wanderer. May he RIP with Dion and all the Belmonts.
I sat next to Bob in Homeroom, he was a nice guy, always in a good mood. Always had a kind word for me in high school and at every reunion. He is pain free now and just waiting for the rest of us to party with him again. R.I.P.

I think everyone at Lowrey High School has a Bob Irwin story. Mine began as we met in
homeroom in 9th grade. A wonderful friendship began and Bob and I enjoyed doing
many things together. We worked together after school and on weekends at the Famous
Recipe Fried Chicken on Monroe Street just down from the Shell gas station. We worked
there the day of Super Bowl #1. One summer we worked the midnight shift at a Chrysler
plant.I recall getting out of work at 8:00am one nice summer day, I wanted to go home
but Bob wanted to go to Camp Dearborn to lay on the beach and meet girls. Bob always
had great ideas.Bob and I enjoyed double dating at Ford Lanes or Jolly Roger. On
occasion we also enjoyed a couple of under age beers together. Bob enjoyed life
and wanted everyone around him to feel the same. You knew when he was in the room,
always friendly to everyone with his great smile and that laugh that I can still hear today.
We have lost another family member of our class of 67 and it hurts. I believe we can find
comfort knowing that Bob is in a better place and telling his new friends how wonderful
it was living in Dearborn Heights, and the great times he enjoyed with his many classmates
from Lowrey High School. Bob had a special relationship with each one of us and we will
always cherish those memories in our hearts.
