Wendy passed away on October 4, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Following is a note from her family:
"To Wendy’s loved ones
Wendy gave up her end of life struggle at 6:00 PM today. Her daughter Jamie was at her side, holding her hand and talking about her grandson Liam.
We do not have the funeral plans finalized at this time, but know it will be at the union hall and will include a pot luck dinner per Wendy’s request.
Wendy has requested that you should not send flowers but donate what you would spend on them to one of her three favorite charities. When we send the details of the service, we will include these charities as well.
Again, thank you for being such an important part of Wendy’s life.

Wendy was a teacher in Florida and had a long history of being active in the teacher's union.

Wendy was a person who ALWAYS went out of her way to be friendly toward me. Throughout school and afterwards. We ran into each other several times throughout the years and kept in touch via the web page. The fact we both taught always gave us a talking point -not that we needed that!
