SP4 Ryals is memorialized on Panel 8W, Line 105 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
He served in the United States Army with A Battery, 1st Battalion, 82nd Artillery, Americal Division, as a Field Artillery Operations and Intelligence Assistant.
On August 12, 1970, while serving in Quang Tin Province, Republic of South Vietnam, SP4 Ryals died through non-hostile action as the result of an accident while serving his country.
SP4 Ryals answered the call to serve during a difficult chapter in our nation’s history, standing alongside his fellow soldiers far from home.
Today, he rests at Pine Level Cemetery in Jay, Florida.
His service, sacrifice, and memory will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
